Lead Evaporator Operator

Comstock Park, MI

We are looking for a team oriented individual who will help us continue to expand and grow. We currently have a full-time, Monday thru Friday, 7AM to 5PM, 1st shift position available. This individual must have knowledge of and prior experience operating an evaporator. This individual will be the lead operator and responsible for the operation of the evaporator. This individual will maintain and monitor the control levels and pressures of the evaporator; possess the ability to ensure product meets specifications; maintain operating records; possess basic math, writing and computer skills including touch screen operations; have the ability to troubleshoot equipment; perform necessary evaporator routine cleaning and preventative maintenance; prevent spills; monitor and maintain equipment for abuse and break-downs; perform necessary routine cleaning & maintenance of the facilities, equipment, etc. and other duties as assigned. This individual must maintain safe working conditions and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues.

Individuals must:

Ensure the highest quality product by properly performing all required procedures, as instructed and trained. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Computer usage – requires selecting, monitoring and assuring that the proper product is produced and CIP (cleaning in place) activities are being performed appropriately and Microsoft Word, excel and email communications. Experience with PACSystems RSTi 10 programmable control is a plus.

• Quality control – perform quality checks i.e. verify control levels, pressure, pre-start checklist, pre-start sanitation.

• Keep work area clean and orderly.

• Must be able to follow both written and oral directions given.

Cleaning and Sanitation: The employee must be capable of cleaning and sanitizing equipment. Communicate with supervisors and managers on all Food Safety and production issues. Safely and effectively perform product line hook-ups. Ability to work independently, and with others. Perform other duties and job tasks, as assigned and instructed.

Candidates should:

• Be able to work in teams effectively and encourage a positive work environment.

• Demonstrate ability to effectively trouble-shoot and use problem solving skills.

• Sound communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Possess basic math and writing skills

• Have skill set which includes proficient use of computers

• Demonstrated ability to ensure all documentation is timely, accurate, and complete.

• Complete pre-operational checks on all equipment before starting a process.

• Have the ability to learn multiple job duties

• Be able to lift 55 pounds on a regular basis

• Be able to work at elevated heights

• Be able to work in varying environments

• Possess maintenance skills

The ability to read and understand formulas is essential to the position.
