This position entails territory and account management of QLF dealers and producers located within Central and Western Minnesota. Travel will be required. The major responsibility is leading QLF sales growth through dealers and producers within the assigned territory. The DSM must manage dealer, consultant and producer relationships within the district. This person will have responsibility for spending time in the country calling on Dairy and Beef Producers in cooperation with our Field Technical Staff and working with dealers, key industry influencers, nutritionists and consultants. This person will provide sound nutritional and management consultation in an effort to enhance bottom line profitability. This person will assist with the market strategy development with the QLF Team and Management. This person will maintain and grow their product, nutrition and dairy/beef management skills in order to effectively grow value added sales in this market. This person must maintain a high level of knowledge in the following areas: product; product storage and handling, nutritional application, problem solving, sales promotion and marketing. This person will have a major part in the communication between our Field Technical Staff, Technical Team and Marketing to ensure we are providing the product information needed in the Midwest for market development and growth. Additionally, this person will interact with other professionals in the industry, academia and government.
This position is a field-based services position. Travel will be required. Individual will be required to reside within the territory. Required: Strong understanding of applied dairy nutrition; familiarity with the dairy industry; proficient at basic computer skills: email, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills; must be able to multi-task, prioritize, work under deadlines and function well as part of a team. Strong understanding of applied dairy nutrition; familiarity with the dairy industry; industry experience/marketplace knowledge, prior sales experience with a proven track record in developing new accounts, working knowledge of proper management and feeding practice. Preferred: Dairy experience in the region; familiarity with formulation software and/or ration balancing software; understanding of nutrient analytical testing and interpretation of results. A strong agricultural business aptitude, and some knowledge of the Beef industry is preferred.
