Block Production

We are looking for a team-oriented individual who will help us continue to provide American Agriculture with the highest quality products. We currently have a full-time, 7AM to 3PM, 1st Shift Block Production position available at our Dunlap Block, IA plant. This individual is responsible for responsible for feed safety and quality by operating block cooker/cooling equipment to manufacture block feeds to specified feed formulations. This individual will operate automated or manual equipment, pumps, pre-mix addition systems, and routing systems to manufacture feed per established procedures. This individual will inspect inbound bulk and bag ingredients, operate receiving equipment and distribute ingredients into the appropriate bin/tank following established procedures. The ability to read and understand basic recipe type formulas as well as pay attention to detail in labeling product, etc. is essential to the position. This individual is also responsible for performing cost-effective, preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on plant facilities and equipment to minimize down-time within the facility. Must be dependable and pay attention to detail. Candidates should be able to work in teams effectively and encourage a positive work environment, demonstrate ability to effectively trouble-shoot and use problem solving skills, have sound communication skills – both verbal and written, possess basic math and writing skills, have the ability to learn multiple job duties, be able to lift 55 pounds on a regular basis, be able to work at elevated heights, be able to work in varying environments and possess some maintenance skills. Candidates must be willing to work various shifts and weekends depending on business needs. We will train the RIGHT person.
